  1. Can we wear crepe bandage at night?

Ans: One needs to remove the crepe bandage before going to sleep and keep the injured or sprained area raised or elevated on a pillow to avoid swelling.

    2. How tight should a compression bandage be?

Ans: The bandage should be wrapped snugly and should not be too tight so as to avoid the cutoff of blood circulation. If in case the bandage is too tight, then the area around it may turn purplish or blue or there may be numbness at the site after which it is recommended that the bandage should be loosened.

   3. Can you wash the crepe bandage?

Ans: Yes, the crepe bandages can be washed. The bandage should be rinsed in lukewarm water by hand. You should not scrub the bandage as it can last longer if not done so. Dry the bandage on a clean surface and after it has dried completely roll it as it is then ready for the next use.

  4. How long the compression bandages should be left on?

Ans: Usually it is recommended that the bandages cannot be changed before 48 to 72 hours. After that, it can be left on for a week and sometimes for comfort purposes it can be changed twice weekly.
